実際にドミノピザでは、以前、「30分以内に配達できなかった場合、ピザの代金はいただきません」
・・・という保証をつけていたそうですが、実際問題、お客様にとってこのサービスは気が引けるもので、3分や5分遅れただけでは、さすがに無料にして！とはいえずに、この保証制度を利用していないケースがたくさんあったそう。

そこで、「30分以内に配達できなかった場合には、３ドル割引」という保証内容に変えたそうです。

ちょっとした変化ではありますが、お客様にとって、後者のほうが、サービスの価格や、ミスの重大性、妥当性を考慮したときに、ちょうどぴったり当てはまるものだったよう。

「いかにクレームされないようにするか？」と気を張るよりも、お客様が気兼ねなく「不満足」を訴えられるようなシステムが、この「価値保証」を有効に使うために必須なんですね。
